Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Friday Fryer to join our team.

Casual Friday Hours 4-9pm

Angel lane / Sandgate Chippie Penrith

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items, primarily focusing on fried dishes, in a fast-paced takeaway and cafe environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fried food items according to established recipes and standards
• Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presentation standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
• Assist in meal preparation and plating as required
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including fryers, ovens, and utensils
• Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management of shortages or replenishment needs
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment
• Support team members during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of orders

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
• Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• A genuine interest in culinary arts and meal preparation
• Flexibility to work on Fridays, with availability for additional shifts if required
• Previous restaurant or serving experience is advantageous but not mandatory

Pay: £13.50-£14.50 per hour
