OPERATIONS DIRECTOR – GLOBE ROOFING LTD

Salary: £65,000–£75,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Due to continued growth and the expansion of our operations, Globe Roofing Ltd is looking to appoint an experienced and highly driven Operations Director to take overall responsibility for the operational performance of the business.

This is a senior leadership position within the company. The Operations Director will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely alongside the MD, taking ownership of the day-to-day operational delivery of the business and playing an important role in its continued development and growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our operational team, managing our Contracts Managers and ensuring every project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the quality standards expected by Globe Roofing and our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Globe Roofing Ltd
• Report directly to and work closely alongside the Managing Director
• Lead, manage and oversee our Contracts Managers across all developments
• Oversee the wider operational management team and ensure clear accountability throughout the business
• Ensure labour resources are effectively planned and allocated across all live and upcoming projects
• Take overall responsibility for workmanship, quality control and site standards
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with specifications, manufacturer requirements, NHBC standards and company procedures
• Oversee material control, usage, wastage and stock management across the business
• Take responsibility for purchasing control and ensure materials are procured efficiently and commercially
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and ensure service levels are maintained
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with our clients at both site and senior management level
• Attend operational and client meetings where required and ensure commitments made by the business are delivered
• Manage client expectations regarding programmes, labour, quality, materials and operational delivery
• Identify potential operational issues at an early stage and implement solutions before they impact programme, quality or client relationships
• Ensure Contracts Managers maintain the required standards of reporting, site inspections, quality control and communication
• Drive accountability, performance and continuous improvement throughout the operational team
• Work closely alongside the Managing Director on business planning, future workload, resources, operational strategy and the continued development of the company
• Provide clear and regular reporting to the Managing Director on operational performance, risks, quality, resources and upcoming requirements

The Person

We are looking for an experienced operational leader who is confident taking ownership, making decisions and holding people accountable.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience within the roofing, housebuilding or construction industry, with a proven track record of managing multiple developments, Contracts Managers and operational teams.

You will need to be commercially aware, highly organised and capable of maintaining control across a large number of live projects simultaneously.

Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, alongside an excellent understanding of construction programmes, workmanship standards, quality control, materials, purchasing and client management.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes ownership and accountability, leads from the front and understands the importance of maintaining high standards throughout the business.

This is a key appointment for Globe Roofing Ltd. The successful candidate will have significant responsibility and autonomy while working closely alongside the Managing Director to ensure the operational and strategic objectives of the company are achieved.
