Locum Registrar (NHS) – ASAP Start

Location: NHS Trust (North West England)

Contract: Locum / Full‑time or Part‑time
Start Date: Immediate

Right to Work: Must have valid Right to Work in the UK

Experience: Must have previous NHS experience

Job Description

The NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Locum Registrar (ST3+) to provide high‑quality clinical care across inpatient, outpatient, and on‑call services. The successful candidate will join a supportive multidisciplinary team and contribute to safe, effective patient management.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high‑standard clinical care to patients within your specialty
  • Participating in ward rounds, clinics, and emergency assessments
  • Supporting junior doctors and contributing to teaching
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to NHS clinical governance
  • Participating in rota duties, including evenings/nights (if required)
  • Working collaboratively with consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Right to Work in the UK
  • Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
  • Minimum ST3+ level experience
  • Previous NHS experience (minimum 6–12 months preferred)
  • Up‑to‑date mandatory training (BLS/ALS, safeguarding, etc.)
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Qualifications

  • MBBS / MBChB or equivalent medical degree
  • Completion of Core Training (CT1–CT2) or equivalent
  • Specialty training experience relevant to the post
  • ALS certification (desirable but often required)
