Full job description

Trainee Sales Assistant

Location: Brighton

Full-Time | In-Person

This Trainee Sales Assistant position is a front-facing, people-focused role supporting nationally recognised health, care, and children’s charity campaigns.

You’ll be trained to represent charity initiatives across live pop up events, brand activation stands, local community campaigns, and local businesses, holding informative, respectful conversations that raise awareness and generate long-term support. This role combines public engagement, ethical fundraising, and campaign delivery, with clear expectations around outcomes.

It suits an individual who enjoy working with people, are comfortable having purpose-led conversations, and want to develop communication and sales skills in a professional, supportive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your time will be split across three core campaign channels, each with a clear purpose.

Event-Based Charity Campaigns

Working at events, pop-up locations, shopping centres, and high-footfall public areas, you’ll act as a face-to-face representative for national charity initiatives.

You will:

  • Speak with members of the public about charity missions, values, and the real-world impact of their work
  • Explain how donations fund essential services such as healthcare support, family care, research, and children’s programmes
  • Share impact stories to help people understand why ongoing support matters
  • Clearly explain how individuals can actively support the charity, including regular giving options
  • Guide interested supporters through the registration process in a transparent, ethical, and fully compliant manner
  • Ensure all contribution details, commitments, and supporter rights are explained accurately

Outreach

You’ll also take part in structured community-based campaigns within approved areas.

This involves:

  • Engaging individuals in one-to-one conversations about local and national charity initiatives
  • Explaining how regular community support helps fund long-term care services, awareness programmes, and specialist support
  • Answering questions honestly and clearly, ensuring people fully understand how contributions are used
  • Guiding interested individuals through becoming registered supporters with full transparency
  • Accurately recording supporter information using digital systems
  • Representing campaigns professionally in public-facing environments

Business-to-Business Charity Support

Some campaigns include visiting local businesses to introduce charity support opportunities.

You may:

  • Speak with business owners and managers about ways their organisation can support charity initiatives
  • Discuss workplace giving, awareness partnerships, and staff-led fundraising involvement
  • Build professional relationships and introduce partnership opportunities
  • Pass qualified interest to senior campaign leaders for follow-up

This is relationship-focused outreach, not hard corporate sales.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Attending daily campaign briefings and training sessions
  • Working as part of a team across Brighton and surrounding areas
  • Communicating confidently and professionally with a wide range of people
  • Following fundraising compliance, safeguarding, and ethical guidelines at all times
  • Completing accurate reporting and supporter documentation
  • Representing the campaigns and company with integrity

Training & Progression

This is a trainee role with structured onboarding, hands-on coaching, and ongoing development. High performers can progress into team leadership, campaign supervision, and training roles.

Pay & Benefits

  • Around £600 per week, paid weekly
  • Uncapped commissions and performance bonuses
  • Full training and ongoing coaching
  • Clear progression opportunities
  • Supportive team environment
  • The opportunity to work on campaigns that create real impact

Who This Role Is Suited To

  • Confident communicators who enjoy face-to-face work
  • People comfortable guiding conversations toward clear outcomes
  • Individuals with customer service, hospitality, retail, or events experience (helpful but not essential)
  • Those motivated by both purpose and performance

Application Process

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to discuss the role in detail and receive a full overview of campaign structure, expectations, and earning potential before progressing further.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £600.00 per week
