Medical Receptionist / Administrator
Woodstock Medical Centre, Woodstock Road, Lanark ML11 7DH

Part time and Full time positions available

Alba Medical Group is one of Scotland’s largest primary care providers, delivering high-quality General Medical Services to approximately 77,000 patients. Due to continued growth across our Lanarkshire practices, we are seeking enthusiastic and organised individuals to join our administrative team as Medical Receptionists / Administrators. Successful candidates will work in Woodstock Medical Centre supporting the delivery of excellent patient care and service.

About the Role

This is a rewarding and varied role at the heart of primary care. As the first point of contact for patients, healthcare professionals and partner organisations, you will play a key role in ensuring patients can access the right care, at the right time, in the right place.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing telephone and face-to-face patient enquiries
  • Booking and coordinating appointments
  • Processing prescription requests
  • Supporting workflow management and incoming clinical correspondence
  • Signposting patients to the most appropriate services and sources of support
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and administrative systems
  • Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative colleagues across our practices

About You

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Deliver outstanding customer service with empathy and professionalism
  • Are highly organised and able to prioritise competing demands
  • Thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Work effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative
  • Are adaptable and willing to learn new systems and processes

Previous experience within General Practice, healthcare administration or a customer-facing role is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
