Job Title: Hygiene Operative
Overview: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Hygiene Operative in our food factory. The Hygiene Operative plays a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards to ensure the safety and quality of our food products.
Hours of work:
37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 10pm to 6am
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Sanitising Equipment: Thoroughly clean and sanitise all equipment, utensils, and machinery used in food production according to established procedures and schedules.
- Facility Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of production areas, including floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents and tools.
- Waste Management: Properly dispose of waste materials, including food scraps, packaging, and cleaning supplies, in accordance with company policies and regulations.
- Pest Control: Monitor for signs of pests and take appropriate measures to prevent infestations, such as sealing entry points and implementing pest control measures as directed.
- Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to chemical handling guidelines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, including cleaning schedules, checklists, and sanitation logs, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with production and quality assurance teams to schedule cleaning activities and address any hygiene-related concerns or issues promptly.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in hygiene practices and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform thorough cleaning and sanitation tasks with attention to detail and precision.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals.
- Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to completing assigned tasks accurately and on time.
- Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed to meet production demands.
- Safety Consciousness: Knowledge of safety protocols and practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Previous Experience: Prior experience in a similar role, particularly in a food production or manufacturing environment, is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Certifications: Food safety and hygiene certifications are a plus.
