Full job description
About Elevate FM:
Elevate FM is a growing national facilities management and property maintenance company, delivering reactive, planned and specialist maintenance services to commercial customers across the UK.
Our vision is simple:
To make our customers' lives easier.
Following the award of a significant new national pest control contract, we're expanding our in-house pest control division and looking for an experienced, qualified Pest Control Technician to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing division with an established portfolio of commercial customers, regular planned maintenance work and the opportunity to increase your earnings through performance.
We're looking for someone who wants more than just another pest control job — someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys building customer relationships and wants to play a part in developing a successful pest control business.
The Role:
You'll be responsible for delivering a combination of planned preventative pest control visits and reactive pest control services across an established regional portfolio.
Your diary will include regular scheduled visits to commercial customer premises, including nursery environments, alongside reactive call-outs, follow-up treatments and recommendations for additional pest prevention works.
This is a mobile regional role covering locations across the South East, Midlands and South West of England. Some journeys will involve significant travel, and your diary will be planned geographically wherever possible to minimise unnecessary travelling.
You'll have the independence to manage your regional workload, supported by our office team, while ensuring our customers receive a consistently professional, reliable service.
We're looking for someone who can think independently, take ownership of problems and deliver the right solutions first time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled pest control inspections and planned preventative maintenance visits across an established commercial customer portfolio.
- Attend reactive pest control call-outs, including urgent requests where required.
- Identify, investigate and treat pest activity using appropriate, safe and effective methods.
- Carry out follow-up visits and monitor treatment effectiveness.
- Install, inspect and maintain pest monitoring and control equipment.
- Identify pest entry points, structural defects and potential infestation risks.
- Recommend appropriate pest proofing, exclusion and preventative measures.
- Complete accurate digital service reports, treatment records and risk assessments following every visit.
- Maintain appropriate pesticide, equipment and vehicle stocks.
- Ensure all treatments comply with relevant legislation, pesticide safety requirements and industry best practice.
- Follow site-specific safeguarding, health and safety and access procedures, particularly when working in nursery environments.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding findings, treatments and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities for additional pest prevention, proofing and remedial works.
- Build positive working relationships with customers and help develop long-term business opportunities.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for an experienced Pest Control Technician who is comfortable working independently and managing a varied regional workload.
Essential Requirements
- RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management, BPCA Level 2 or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Previous professional experience working as a Pest Control Technician.
- Good knowledge of common UK pest species and appropriate treatment methods.
- Experience identifying pest activity, investigating infestations and delivering effective treatments.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a regional workload.
- Confidence using mobile technology to complete digital job reports and documentation.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
- Willingness to travel across the allocated territory.
- Ability to comply with safeguarding requirements and undertake appropriate DBS screening.
Desirable Experience
- Commercial pest control contracts and multi-site customer portfolios.
- Working in nurseries, schools, healthcare or other sensitive environments.
- Pest proofing and preventative maintenance.
- Rodent monitoring programmes and integrated pest management.
- Experience managing planned servicing alongside reactive call-outs.
- Identifying and recommending additional pest control or remedial works.
What We Offer
- £30,000 annual basic salary.
- Opportunity to increase your earnings through performance-related incentives.
- Company van.
- Fuel card.
- Company phone.
- All required pest control equipment.
- Uniform and PPE.
- Company pension.
- 28 days' annual leave including bank holidays.
- Ongoing professional training and development.
- An established portfolio of contracted commercial customers.
- Regular planned maintenance work alongside reactive pest control.
- A regional servicing schedule supported by our office team.
- The opportunity to take ownership of your territory.
- The opportunity to help develop and grow our pest control division.
Performance & Earning Opportunities
We believe that people who deliver great results and contribute to the success of the business should have the opportunity to be rewarded.
Alongside your £30,000 basic salary, you'll have the opportunity to increase your earnings through performance-related incentives.
We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their workload, delivers excellent customer service, identifies opportunities to improve pest prevention and contributes positively to the growth of our pest control division.
As the business grows, we want our technicians to share in that success.
Why Join Elevate FM?
We're not simply looking for someone to work through a list of pest control visits.
We're building a professional, reliable pest control service with ambitious plans for growth over the coming years.
With a substantial new contract secured and an established national customer base already in place, we're investing in the people and infrastructure needed to develop this division.
For the right person, this offers:
- The stability of an established commercial customer portfolio.
- The independence to manage your own regional workload.
- The support of an established national facilities management business.
- The opportunity to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility.
- The potential to increase your earnings through strong performance.
- The chance to help shape a growing pest control division.
