Vergo has over 40 years of experience in the pest industry and is the largest independent national pest service provider in the UK today. Vergo is a national business with staff geographically spread across the UK and Northern Ireland. Our comprehensive range of pest management services includes rodent control, bird management, insect control, and wildlife management.
Due to an growth, we are looking for 2 Technical and Quality Managers to join us, covering the South.
The Technical & Quality Manager is dedicated to supporting a portfolio of Vergos key accounts and plays a crucial role in both mitigating ongoing pest issues and driving improvements in the quality of Vergos pest control service across our clients estates. This is a dynamic role that delivers reactive support for the management of client sites placed on escalation, in addition to the proactive management of high-risk client sites to identify opportunities to mitigate future pest ingress.
The Technical & Quality Manager will resolve pest problems to reduce customer pest risk by taking a hands-on approach to solving pest issues and be the first point of contact for all stakeholders both internally and externally. By taking ownership of sites that have reached escalation, they will be responsible for producing comprehensive treatment plans and assessing the quality of work being undertaken. This will include the creation of escalation programmes to ensure the properties become pest free and are effectively proofed against any future pest ingress.
Key duties:
- Troubleshoot problematic customer sites, identify route cause of pest ingress, and provide an escalation programme to resolve the issue.
- Provide comprehensive reports around undertaking and completion of escalation works.
- Complete on-site visits and reports for each escalation / pre-escalation site, establishing the root cause.
- Deliver full treatment plans for each escalation / pre-escalation site and deliver to Vergo Area management
- Carry out pre-escalation visits to risk stores
- Directly manage all aspects of an escalation programme to include all internal team members, liaison with Subcontractors and clients on-site employees.
- Support indirectly and advise other operational managerial employees on how to run an escalation program.
- Monitor and provide feedback to Area Managers on the quality of work of technicians.
- Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
- Carry QA visits when appropriate.
- Support other escalation managers on the account when required.
- Any other ad hoc duties as required by the business.
Qualifications and experience:
Essential
- Higher level Industry Training (BPCA Advanced Technician/RSPH Level 3 in Pest Management)
- Full valid UK driving licence.
- Good standard of written English and verbal communication skills.
- 3 years pest control experience (minimum)
- Experience in problem solving/root cause analysis.
- Good computer skills including PowerPoint, excel and word etc.
Desirable
- Certified Field Biologist Accreditation (BPCA)
- Maintaining QHSE practices, policies and procedures with an understanding of the requirements for ISO-9001
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification
- Detailed report writing experience
