Full job description

VermEx are looking for an experienced pest control technician to join our small family business in the York area. You will ideally need to be qualified to the RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management or equivalent, with 2 years experience in the Pest Control industry. As a VermEx technician you will be responsible for undertaking pest control treatments on commercial and residential properties across our client base.

VermEx working hours are between 8am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday, with the occasional opportunity for paid overtime. Technicians are provided with a company vehicle, driving is a critical aspect of this role and therefore a full driving licence is essential.

As a VermEx technician, you will need to plan your daily working routes and travel efficiently between customer premises to conduct full inspections and advise customers on possible treatment options.

The role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, with client interactions a key part of the day-to-day role. Commission will be paid for on successful leads.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualified to RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management or equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience in Pest Control
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Successful candidates will require Enhanced DBS Clearance before commencing employment

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect customer premises and report on status of premises on levels of pest infestation.
  • Organise and undertake a programme of treatments using pesticides to control pests
  • Undertake minor proofing works to prevent pest infestation.
  • Competent written & verbal communication skills
  • Good customer service skills and maintaining client relations
  • Be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Able to work to and meet deadlines
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to work at height and in confined spaces.
  • Applying suitable pesticides to infested areas by following the label instructions and complying with safety procedures.
  • Safely install pest control materials including baits, sprays, powders and gels
  • Responding to customers’ requests for various pest control services.
  • Identifying opportunities to sell additional company services and products.
  • Prepare quotations for new service proposals by explaining provisions and options to existing customers and new customers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £27,000.00 per year

  • York, North Yorkshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Pest Control: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
