Role Purpose

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a competent and proactive Hygiene Manager to take full ownership of the hygiene function and drive continuous improvement across our production site. This is a key role for someone who is passionate about excellence, eager to make a tangible impact and excited by the opportunity to shape and elevate standards within a thriving business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Hygiene Team, including scheduling, performance management & training.
  • Oversee all hygiene schedules & cleaning procedures, with regular audits.
  • Coordinate and execute deep-cleaning activities, including full equipment strip-downs.
  • Support the Technical Manager with pest control and audit readiness.
  • Conduct shift inspections to monitor safety and hygiene standards.
  • Achieve technical targets for microbiological trends, HACCP & equipment release.
  • Liaise with chemical suppliers to maintain hygiene audit systems.
  • Investigate microbiological issues, applying root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation in line with BRC Global Food Safety Standard Issue 9.
  • Continuous improvement of the Hygiene QMS.
  • Manage the prevention of build-up & contamination on equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all hygiene & maintenance tasks & all relevant training records.
  • Adhere to all health & safety and food hygiene standards.

Details

  • Hours: 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday + occasional weekend or night shift work required.
  • Salary: DOE.
  • Contract: Permanent.
