Full job description

Kilworth Springs Golf Club is looking for a Assistant Greenkeeper/Trainee Greenkeeper to join our team and to carry out routine golf course maintenance tasks as directed by the Course Manager.

Due to one of our team moving on we are looking for someone to join our greenkeeping team maintaining Kilworth Springs Golf Club

Working in a small team you must be hard working with a good attention to detail and enjoy working outdoors.

Qualifications are desired but not essential as training will be provided,

Mechanical experience would be desirable but not essential

Must be physically fit and able to work outdoor in all weathers

Needs to have the ability to work well on their own or in a team to complete tasks required

Due to the hours of work and the location the applicant will need to be able to drive and have own transport

Hours 5.30am to 2:00pm dependant on the time of year, flexibility will be needed in summer months

Working 1 in 4 weekends and other important dates on the calendar if required

Applicants must:

  • Be able to work well as part of a team.
  • Be willing and able to start work early in the morning and able to work Weekends.
  • Listen to and follow the instructions of the Course Manager.
  • Be able to work independently and proactively without supervision.
  • Have an interest in working in an outdoor environment and have an eye for detail.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cut tees, greens, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi rough.
  • Set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving tee markers, indicating OOB, Drop zones and hazards.
  • Switch and brush greens
  • Apply top dressing and fertilizer
  • Identify and control pests and diseases
  • Renovate worn and damaged turf
  • Prepare and maintain machinery

Experience

Previous experience in landscaping or greens keeping is desired but not essential.

Pay: £23,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
