Overview
We are seeking a skilled Falconer to join our team. As a Falconer, you will be responsible for the care and training of our birds of prey, primarily falcons, for pest control, and display flying.

The position is to look after a family’s private collection of falconry birds set in 300 acres.

The falconer needs to live within 20 minutes of the estate due to some on call hours when family are in residence.

Duties

The falconer will be involved in the following tasks

· Flying falcons to a drone, hand and lure.

· Carrying out flying displays for families and friends.

· Working with the birds tracking equipment.

· First aid on the birds.

· Feeding and weighing the birds to ensure they have the correct amount of feed and exercise.

· Carrying out various procedures on the birds, such as imping, coping, casting etc.

· Pest control daily (weather permitting)

· Cleaning out the aviaries and keeping the surrounding areas clean and presentable.

· Any other duties which may arise.

Requirements
Skills

· To be physically fit and able to carry out manual work.

· The ability to work as part of a team.

· Confident to talk to groups of people or individuals.

· Able to communicate information effectively to team members and managers.

· Experienced in all aspects of falconry.

Hours

This is a fulltime position working 5 days per week on a shift basis weekend and bank holiday work will be required, hours are 8am-6pm with a hour paid lunch break.28 days paid holiday.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £31,500.00-£36,750.00 per year
