About Us: Grove Place Village is a vibrant retirement community nestled in 27 acres of stunning Hampshire countryside. Our expansive and beautifully maintained gardens are a source of pride and joy for our residents, providing a peaceful and picturesque environment. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Gardener to join our team and help keep our grounds looking their best all year round.

Full time contract, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Garden Maintenance: Care for the extensive gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas across the 27-acre estate.
  • Planting & Pruning: Plant, prune, and care for a wide variety of trees, shrubs, flowers, and hedges to maintain their health and appearance.
  • Lawn Care: Mow, trim, and edge lawns to ensure they are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Weed & Pest Control: Implement eco-friendly weed control and pest management practices to preserve the beauty and health of the gardens.
  • Seasonal Tasks: Carry out seasonal gardening activities, including planting bulbs, mulching, leaf collection, and winter preparation.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain gardening tools and machinery, ensuring they are in good working order. Full training available.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all gardening activities are performed in line with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for both residents and staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Gardener, preferably in a large estate or similar setting.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Ability to operate gardening machinery such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of garden care.
  • Physical Fitness: Good physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a small team.
