Our studio is a vibrant and welcoming space where people come to relax, get creative and make memories. We are looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Studio Assistants to join our team and help us deliver an amazing experience for every customer.

No previous pottery or tufting experience is required, as full training will be provided. We are much more interested in your personality, reliability and willingness to learn.

About the Role

As a Studio Assistant, you will help run pottery painting and tufting sessions, welcome customers, prepare materials and keep the studio organised.

You will be at the heart of the studio atmosphere, helping customers feel comfortable, explaining how activities work and making sure everyone has a fun and stress-free experience.

Every day is different, so this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, loves creative environments and can stay positive during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and check in customers when they arrive.
  • Explain how pottery painting, tufting and other workshops work.
  • Support guests during sessions by offering guidance and encouragement.
  • Prepare materials and set up workshop spaces.
  • Keep the studio clean, organised, stocked and well presented.
  • Manage bookings, collections and customer enquiries.
  • Assist with pottery processing, including waxing, glazing, kiln loading and unloading.
  • Help with administrative and organisational tasks.
  • Work closely with the manager and wider team to keep the studio running smoothly.
  • Assist with photos and videos for social media when required.
  • Help set up and support private, corporate and special events.

Full training will be provided for all studio-specific processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Friendly, approachable and confident when speaking with customers.
  • Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
  • Positive, energetic and comfortable in a busy environment.
  • Organised and able to multitask during busy periods.
  • Strong spoken and written English.
  • A genuine interest in creativity, art or hands-on activities.
  • Willingness to learn pottery painting and tufting techniques.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.

Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail or events is desirable, but not essential.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with pottery, ceramics, tufting or other crafts.
  • Social media experience, particularly TikTok or Instagram.
  • Photography or video editing skills.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop or other design software.
  • A valid driving licence.
  • Experience helping to organise events or workshops.

What We Offer

  • £12.71 per hour.
  • Full training provided.
  • Flexible part-time hours.
  • A fun and creative workplace where no two days are the same.
  • Staff discounts and studio perks.
  • Casual dress.
  • Company events and team socials.
  • Opportunities to learn new creative skills.
  • The chance to grow within the business as the studio expands.
  • A friendly, supportive and artistic team environment.

Recruitment Process

Successful applicants will be invited to:

  • An online interview.
  • An in-person interview at the studio.
  • A paid trial shift.
