Are you a practical and creative technician with experience supporting media, audiovisual equipment and digital technologies? This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking College where technology plays an important role in supporting teaching, learning and student creativity.
As a Media Technician, you will provide technical support across media and creative learning environments, helping staff and students make the most of specialist equipment and facilities. The department also offers Music, Games Development and Visual Arts.
You will work with cameras, lighting, sound, recording equipment and digital media technologies, providing day-to-day support, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and ready for use.
What We Offer
Salary: £25,304 rising to £25,835 per year
⏱️ Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Location: Chippenham Campus

Set up, maintain and operate media and audiovisual equipment
Support staff and students with cameras, lighting, sound and recording equipment
Prepare studios, classrooms and facilities for teaching and events
Troubleshoot technical issues and provide practical solutions
Maintain equipment, stock and technical records
Support media projects, productions and College events
Promote safe and effective use of specialist equipment
What You’ll Bring
Level 2 qualification or above in Media, Creative Media, Photography, Film, TV or a related subject; or equivalent knowledge and experience
Practical experience working with media or audiovisual equipment
Good knowledge of cameras, lighting, sound and recording technologies
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good communication and organisational skills
A proactive approach and willingness to learn new technologies
An understanding of health and safety when working with technical equipment
Your technical skills could help shape the next generation of creative talent.
