Full job description

Studio Operations Lead

Location: Frome, Somerset
Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday - 5 days per week based at our photography studio

Join the Creative Team at Cox & Cox

We're looking for a practical, organised and proactive Studio Operations Lead to help keep our busy photography studio running smoothly.

This is a fully studio-based, hands-on role, working from our Frome Head Office. You'll work alongside our Studio Manager, photographers, stylists and creative team, playing a key role in preparing products, building room sets and ensuring every shoot is ready to go. From supporting studio productions to coordinating location shoots, you'll help create the beautiful imagery that inspires our customers across our website, social channels, print and marketing campaigns.

The role is primarily studio-based, with occasional travel across the UK to support location shoots. A full UK driving licence is therefore essential.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced creative environment, have a hands-on approach and love solving problems, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of our photography studio and location shoots.
  • Preparing furniture, products, props and styling items ahead of scheduled shoots.
  • Building and dismantling room sets to the highest presentation standards.
  • Working alongside photographers and stylists to keep shoots running efficiently.
  • Coordinating the movement of products and samples between the warehouse and studio.
  • Packing, loading and transporting equipment for location shoots.
  • Driving the company vehicle to approved UK shoot locations and supporting on-site setup and breakdown.
  • Carrying out practical studio tasks including furniture assembly, hanging artwork, painting sets and basic maintenance.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe studio environment.
  • Helping improve studio processes to support faster content production and speed to site.

About you

You'll be someone who enjoys being hands-on and takes pride in creating an organised, efficient working environment. You're comfortable juggling multiple priorities and enjoy working as part of a collaborative creative team.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working within a photography studio, creative production or retail environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting photography or content production.
  • Confidence assembling furniture and carrying out practical studio tasks.
  • Good DIY or maintenance skills.
  • Experience handling furniture and larger products safely.
  • A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to get involved wherever needed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally for location shoots.

Benefits

  • Salary: £26,000–£28,000 per annum.
  • Location: Fully studio-based at our Frome Head Office (Monday to Friday), with occasional UK travel for location shoots.
  • 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (28 days in total).
  • An additional day's annual leave for every completed year of service, up to a maximum of 30 days.
  • Your birthday off every year.
  • Generous staff discount on Cox & Cox products.
  • Perkbox employee benefits platform.
  • Company pension scheme.
