Full job description
Join the UK’s National Driving School of the Year
At driveJohnson’s, we’re not looking for someone to keep our social media ticking over.
We’re looking for an exceptional creative.
Someone who genuinely cares about producing work they’re proud of. Someone who notices the tiny details that most people overlook. Someone who enjoys refining an edit until it’s right, rather than settling for “good enough”.
Every piece of content we publish represents one of the UK’s largest driving schools. Whether it’s a TikTok video, a YouTube campaign, a Meta advert or a single Instagram graphic, we want people to stop scrolling and pay attention.
That’s where you come in.
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious in-house marketing team with the freedom, equipment and support to create work that reaches hundreds of thousands of people every month.
If you’re looking for somewhere that values creativity, experimentation and continuous improvement, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll play a key role in creating content across our brands and marketing campaigns, including:
- Planning, filming and editing short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
- Producing engaging graphics, animations and visual assets for digital marketing campaigns.
- Developing creative concepts from initial idea through to final delivery.
- Photographing people, vehicles, events and locations where required.
- Creating motion graphics and animations that enhance our content.
- Supporting paid advertising campaigns with creative assets designed to convert.
- Working closely with the wider marketing team to launch campaigns across multiple channels.
- Analysing content performance and using data to improve future creative.
- Running A/B tests and continually refining creative based on real-world results.
- Exploring new ideas, techniques, software and AI tools that improve quality and efficiency.
No two days are the same. We encourage experimentation, welcome new ideas and constantly challenge ourselves to produce better work.
What we’re looking for
This isn’t an entry-level role.
We’re looking for someone who can already produce work to a high standard and is excited by the opportunity to do it on a much bigger stage.
You don’t need to be world-class at everything.
But you should be exceptional in at least one creative discipline, whether that’s:
- Videography
- Video editing
- Graphic design
- Motion graphics and animation
- Paid social creative
- Photography
You’ll also have a genuine appreciation for great design and understand how all of these disciplines work together to produce outstanding content.
You’ll ideally have:
- An exceptional eye for design, composition, typography and visual storytelling.
- Strong experience using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Professional experience editing video using Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
- Experience using Adobe After Effects for animation and motion graphics.
- A portfolio that demonstrates both creativity and technical ability.
- A strong understanding of what makes content perform across different social media platforms.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple creative projects simultaneously.
- High standards and genuine pride in producing polished, professional work.
- The confidence to receive feedback, iterate and continually improve your work.
AI and creative technology
We actively encourage the use of AI tools where they genuinely improve your workflow.
We’re looking for someone who knows how to use AI to work smarter, generate ideas faster and remove repetitive tasks, while still relying on their own creativity, judgement and critical thinking to produce exceptional content.
Technology should enhance your work, not replace it.
The kind of person who thrives here
You’ll probably enjoy this role if you:
- Find yourself analysing adverts, videos or social posts because you’re interested in why they work.
- Naturally notice poor typography, inconsistent branding or awkward layouts.
- Regularly revisit your own work because you know it can be improved.
- Enjoy experimenting with new techniques, software and creative ideas.
- Care just as much about the final 5% of a project as the first 95%.
- Take genuine satisfaction from producing work that exceeds expectations.
We’re looking for people who are naturally curious, highly self-motivated and never stop learning.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience creating content for paid Meta campaigns.
- Experience growing social media accounts.
- Photography experience.
- Experience working with multiple brands.
- Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing.
- Experience using modern AI-assisted creative workflows.
- Content writing experience (and a good grasp of written English)
What you’ll get
- The opportunity to work on creative campaigns with national reach.
- The freedom to experiment with new ideas and genuinely influence our marketing.
- Access to professional equipment and software.
- Ongoing investment in your personal and professional development.
- A collaborative team that values creativity, initiative and continuous improvement.
- The opportunity to build your career with one of the UK’s fastest-growing driving schools.
Office location and working hours
This is a full-time, office-based role.
Location: Kingston, Milton Keynes
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
Benefits
- Company pension
- On-site parking
- Company events
- Discounted or free food
- Spontaneous rewards and recognition for exceptional work
- Real responsibility from day one
- Genuine opportunities for career progression as the business continues to grow
Before you apply
Please include examples of work you’re genuinely proud of.
We’re much more interested in the quality of your portfolio than the number of years on your CV. During the recruitment process we’ll ask you to talk us through your creative decisions, explain your thinking and show us how you approach producing exceptional work.
If you’re looking for a role where you’ll be challenged, trusted and given the opportunity to create content seen by millions of people every year, we’d love to hear from you.
Pay: £28,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
