Job Title: Studio Team Leader
Location: Splatter Art Studio Manchester
Hours: Minimum 27.5 hours per week, with flexibility required

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Team Leader to join our creative Splatter Art Studio team. This role offers increased responsibility compared to the Studio Assistant position, while remaining firmly hands on and collaborative.
As Team Leader, you will support the smooth running of the studio, provide day to day leadership to the team, and help maintain high standards of customer service.It is important to note that this role works alongside the team, carrying out the same practical studio tasks as your colleagues, while also taking on additional leadership and organisational responsibilities.
This position is a minimum of 27.5 hours per week, with an expectation that you will be available to take on additional hours as needed, particularly to:
- Help to cover your colleagues’ annual leave
- Support additional corporate and private bookings
- Assist during busy periods or special events
Flexibility and reliability are key elements of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
- Act as a senior, on the floor presence during studio hours
- Support, guide, and motivate Studio Assistants in daily studio operations
- Plan schedules and assign daily tasks across the team to ensure smooth operations
- Assist with training and onboarding of new team members
- Ensure studio procedures, health and safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently met
- Communicate effectively with studio management regarding scheduling, workflow, and operational needs
- Take deliveries, restock supplies, and complete stock counts
Studio & Creative Duties (Hands-On Role)
- Perform the same preparation, maintenance, and clean up duties as the wider studio team
- Set up and reset the studio space, materials, and equipment
- Support public sessions, workshops, private parties, and corporate bookings
- Help maintain a welcoming, professional, and creative studio environment
- Help manage the Instagram account, respond to messages, and record and post stories and reels
- Handle customer enquiries and email correspondence
Rota & Scheduling Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage the monthly staff rota, ensuring appropriate cover for all public and private studio sessions
- Allocate shifts in line with staff availability, contracted hours, and business needs
- Adjust rotas as required to cover annual leave, sickness, and additional public and private events
- Accurately track overtime and produce a monthly report to the payroll team
Annual Leave Oversight
- Receive and review annual leave requests, approving or declining them in line with studio staffing requirements
- Ensure adequate cover is maintained at all times when approving leave
- Keep accurate records of approved annual leave and communicate decisions clearly to the team
- Escalate any conflicts or complex leave requests to the regional manager when necessary
About You
- Experience in a senior, supervisory, or team-leading role is essential
- Previous experience working in an art studio or creative environment is beneficial, but not strictly necessary
- Comfortable leading by example and working as part of the team
- Flexible and willing to increase hours when required
- Organised, proactive, and dependable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passionate about fostering a positive team culture
