Freelance Fire Suppression / Water Mist Designer

Location: Hybrid
Rate: £14.50 - £20.00
Contract: Freelance

Asset Engineering Services is looking for an experienced freelance Fire Suppression / Water Mist Designer to support our projects on a contract basis.

You’ll work with our project and installation teams to produce practical, coordinated designs, from initial layouts through to installation and handover.

Scope of work

  • Produce water mist system layouts and installation drawings.
  • Prepare hydraulic calculations and select suitable system components.
  • Review project specifications, drawings and site information.
  • Design to applicable standards, manufacturer requirements and project specifications.
  • Prepare material schedules and resolve technical queries.
  • Attend site surveys and coordination meetings where required.
  • Produce design revisions and as-built documentation.

Experience required

  • Proven experience designing water mist fire suppression systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent design software.
  • Experience producing hydraulic calculations.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver accurate designs within agreed deadlines.
  • Clear communication with project managers, suppliers and installation teams.

Experience with high-pressure water mist systems and relevant manufacturer training would be an advantage.
