Job Title: Early Years Educator

Contract Term: Permanent

Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Responsible To: Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager, Senior Staff

Salary:Varied depending on experience, knowledge and relevant qualifications

Hours:40 Hours a week (Monday to Friday)

Holiday:20 days per Annum + 8 Days Bank Holiday

(+ 1 extra day, to every completed year of service up to 3 years)

Training:

Camelot Day Nursery and Kids Club has extensive resources for staff training and a full list of courses and training initiatives will be given at interview.

Purpose of Role:

The ideal candidate will work alongside a dedicated and passionate team, within a childcare group room to deliver a high-quality level of childcare to all children.

Main Duties:

1. To provide the highest standards of quality care and education for all children.

2. To safeguard children at all times

3. To ensure that health and safety and security measures are constantly maintained.

4. To be aware of and act in accordance with current legislation, and policy and procedures of the setting.

5. To plan a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your room in conjunction with other staff.

6. Have a solid understanding of the EYFS and the curriculum

7. To support parents with any SEN/EAL/ASL needs

8. Support all staff and engage in a good staff team morale.

9. To work in close partnership and to develop and maintain good relationships with parents / carers and other family members.

10. To take pride in your work

11. To be flexible within working practices of nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, cleaning, housekeeping and food preparation, etc.

12. Work alongside the Management team and staff team to ensure that the vision, philosophy and objectives behind Camelot Day Nursery are fulfilled.

13. To uphold the confidentiality of your role, the information you are given and that of the confidentiality policy at ALL times, including on and off site.

14. To develop your role within the team especially in your capacity as a key worker: - keep children’s records up to date including photographs and observations.

15. To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times. To be an ambassador for Camelot Day Nursery both within the nursery and the wider community.

16. To ensure good standards of hygiene and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children.
