Full job description

Group Plumber – Property Maintenance & Installations

Hull and East Yorkshire
Full-time, permanent
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications

We are a growing Hull-based property group operating across student accommodation, residential property, commercial buildings, business centres and self-storage.

We are looking for an experienced Plumber to take responsibility for plumbing maintenance, repairs and installation work across our portfolio.

You’ll work directly for the property owner, with a varied workload covering occupied properties, refurbishments and new developments. From tracing a leak to installing a new bathroom, you’ll be expected to assess the job, organise materials and see the work through to a high standard.

We want someone practical, reliable and organised who uses their initiative, takes pride in their workmanship and gets jobs completed without constant supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair leaks, defective pipework, taps, toilets, showers and other plumbing fittings.
  • Install and replace bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchen plumbing and sanitaryware.
  • Maintain and repair water supplies, waste pipes and drainage systems.
  • Carry out plumbing work on radiators, valves and heating pipework within your qualifications and competence.
  • Respond promptly to urgent issues, making systems safe and limiting damage to properties.
  • Identify recurring faults and recommend lasting repairs.
  • Support refurbishment projects and prepare vacant properties for new tenants.
  • Assess jobs, organise materials and coordinate access with our property team.
  • Complete planned maintenance and identify issues before they become emergency repairs.
  • Keep accurate digital job records, including photographs, materials used and completion notes.
  • Work professionally in occupied properties, keeping tenants informed and leaving work areas clean and tidy.
  • Coordinate with electricians, maintenance staff and specialist contractors to complete work efficiently.

About you

  • Relevant plumbing qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or Level 3, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Proven experience in plumbing maintenance, fault-finding and installation.
  • Confident working independently across residential and commercial properties.
  • Able to trace faults accurately and deliver durable, tidy repairs.
  • Experienced in bathroom installations, including setting out and finishing work to a high standard.
  • Able to prioritise jobs, organise materials and keep colleagues updated.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for job information, photographs and completion records.
  • Reliable, professional and approachable when dealing with tenants, customers and colleagues.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Experience in student accommodation, rental property maintenance or managing work across multiple sites would be an advantage.

Gas Safe registration and unvented hot-water qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential. Gas work will only be undertaken by appropriately qualified and registered engineers.

Why join us?

  • A permanent role working directly within an established and growing property group.
  • A varied mix of maintenance, refurbishment and installation work.
  • Responsibility and independence, with support from the wider property team.
  • The opportunity to improve our properties and contribute to new projects.

To apply, please send your CV with details of your plumbing qualifications and relevant maintenance and installation experience.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
