About the Role

We are seeking two dependable and skilled Maintenance Technicians / Handymen to oversee routine maintenance and repairs in our two care home facilities in Dingwall and Muir of Ord. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background as a Joiner, Plumber, or Mechanical Engineer, or those with proven experience in building, developing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical systems. If you take pride in seeing a job well done, possess excellent fault-finding abilities, and can work independently to high safety standards, we want to hear from you. Salary may be negotiable based on qualifications and/or relevant experience.

  • Groundskeeping & Exterior Care: Maintain the facility exteriors through changing seasons, clear rain gutters, and manage general landscaping up-keep (such as removing fallen branches).
  • Inspections & Record Keeping: Conduct proactive safety inspections to identify issues early, maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, and report major repair or replacement needs.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure company or facility vehicles are kept in safe, clean, and good working condition.

What We Are Looking For

  • Technical Skills: Strong background in a relevant trade (Joinery, Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering) with exceptional problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities.
  • Work Ethic: Highly organised, conscientious, and able to effectively prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.
  • Autonomy: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a wider care home team.
  • Communication: Proficient in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Safety Mindset: High attention to detail with a commitment to ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.

To Apply

If you have the technical skills and the dedication to help us maintain a safe, beautiful environment for our residents, please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
