Police Officer – Transferring

Transfer to the Metropolitan Police Service and help shape the New Met for London

Transfer on your current pay point, with continuity of pension and annual leave entitlement. You’ll also receive £3,024 London Weighting, £1,011 London Allowance 1, and either £4,327 London Allowance 2 or your current Rent/Housing Allowance entitlement.

Bring your skills and experience to one of the most challenging and rewarding policing environments in the UK.

Every day, our officers protect vulnerable people, support victims, investigate crime, respond to critical incidents and build trust within communities across London. As the UK’s largest police service, we offer unrivalled operational experience and opportunities to develop your career.

We’re particularly interested in hearing from experienced neighbourhood and engagement officers who understand the importance of visible policing, problem solving and building strong relationships with local communities. Your experience can help us deliver stronger neighbourhood policing and restore public trust and confidence.

Joining the Met

We recognise the expertise you already bring as a serving police officer. Our transfer process is designed to be straightforward, with support throughout your application, onboarding and induction.

Throughout your journey, you will have access to ongoing professional development, potential specialist opportunities and some of the broadest career pathways in UK policing.

Eligibility

To apply, you must:

· Be a serving officer in a UK Home Office force, Police Scotland or PSNI.

· Have successfully completed your probationary period.

· Be fully operational.

· Meet the Met’s Attendance Management Selection Criteria.

Ready for your next challenge?
