Following significant investment in state-of-the-art printing technology, we are entering the third phase of our planned expansion of our Kent-based production team and are looking for motivated individuals to join us.

Role Overview

As a Technical Artworker, you will play a critical role in preparing artwork for production, ensuring all designs meet the necessary technical specifications for print. You will work closely with designers, production teams, and clients to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in print-ready files. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, excellent software skills, and a solid understanding of print processes.

Key Responsibilities

Artwork Preparation & Adaptation

  • Prepare, adapt, and finalise print-ready artwork for a variety of large-format print projects.
  • Ensure artwork is correctly formatted for production, considering factors such as resolution, colour profiles, bleed, and trim.

Prepress & Print Production Support

  • Check and troubleshoot artwork files for print errors, ensuring compatibility with production workflows.
  • Maintain colour accuracy and consistency across multiple print formats.
  • Work with production teams to ensure files are optimised for different printing processes, including digital, litho, and screen.

Quality Control & File Management

  • Conduct preflight checks to ensure artwork meets required specifications.
  • Maintain version control and an organised file structure, ensuring seamless workflow across departments.
  • Proof and review all artwork before it goes to print to eliminate errors and inconsistencies.

Collaboration & Client Interaction

  • Work closely with designers and account managers to interpret client briefs and translate them into production-ready files.
  • Implement changes and revisions based on client feedback while maintaining brand consistency.

Requirements

Technical Skills & Software Proficiency

  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Experience with prepress software (such as Esko, Prepare it!, Caldera, or Asanti) is advantageous.
  • Understanding of print production processes, including colour management, overprint settings, and imposition.

Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving

  • High level of accuracy in artwork preparation, with a keen eye for spotting errors in layout, typography, and colour.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical artwork issues and suggest solutions.

Time Management & Communication

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external clients.

Portfolio Requirement

  • A demonstrable portfolio showcasing print-ready artwork and technical proficiency is required.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a rapidly growing production team, working with the latest large-format print technology in a solutions-led, experiential environment.
  • We have grown 100% year on year for the last five years, creating opportunities for career progression and development for the right candidate.
  • Work in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment, where attention to detail and efficiency are key.
