Are You a Registered Nurse Looking for a Career Change?

Join ExamWorks as a Disability Assessor and make a difference beyond traditional patient care!

Are you ready to apply your clinical expertise in a new and rewarding way—without the physical demands of hands-on nursing? At ExamWorks, you’ll be part of an established team conducting thorough and impartial assessments to support claimants in receiving Personal Independent Payment (PIP) benefits.

This role empowers you to utilise your knowledge, assess conditions, and evaluate their impact on daily life while helping the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) make fair and informed decisions.

Why Choose ExamWorks?

  • A fresh career path beyond hands-on clinical work
  • Excellent work-life balance – Monday-Friday, 08:30 – 16:30 (No evenings or weekends!)
  • Hybrid working model – a mix of home-based and in-centre assessments
  • Competitive salary + generous benefits package
  • Fully funded 5-week training programme and ongoing support
  • Professional development opportunities – Mentor, Trainer, Interviewer & more

Your Role as a Disability Assessor:
  • Conduct three assessments per day, combining phone and face-to-face evaluations
  • Review medical conditions and assess their impact on daily activities
  • Write detailed 3,000–4,000-word reports with evidence-based clinical justification
  • Expand your expertise in mental health, physical health, and learning disabilities
  • Participate in CPD training and continued professional development

Who We’re Looking For:
Minimum one year post-qualification experience (Nurse, Paramedic, Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist)
Registered with NMC or HCPC, with a valid PIN and no restrictions
Compassionate and empathetic, with strong listening and assessment skills
Excellent time management, able to meet targets while maintaining report quality
Computer literacy – comfortable with typing and digital documentation

What’s in It for You?
  • Competitive salary with annual professional registration fee reimbursement
  • Hybrid work model for flexibility and convenience
  • 23 days’ holiday, plus an additional paid volunteering day
  • Company pension, private healthcare & bi-annual health screenings
  • Exclusive discounts on shopping, travel, health & wellbeing
  • Employee Assistance Programme – including mental health support, counselling & financial advice
  • Refer-a-friend reward scheme
