Full job description

UK Registered Clinical Psychologist

Mission & Values

Our mission at Eden New Life is to provide high-quality and convenient health and well-being advice to transgender, intersex and non-binary clients aged 18 and above. Our service primarily provides access to independent specialists for diagnosis and gender affirming hormone medication. We are a diverse team all serving clients remotely.

The values that guide us are:

  • Client safety comes first
  • Our services are clinically led
  • We are a caring for-profit business
  • We help as many people as we can, within our treatment protocols, but we cannot help everybody
  • We foster a positive working culture and encourage open dialogue on any matter

Role Description

This is a flexible part-time remote contract role (3-5 hours per week to start but likely to increase) for an independent qualified UK registered clinical psychologist. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of registered Allied Health Professionals including UK doctors, nurses, pharmacists and counsellors.

The role primarily involves:

  • Diagnosis Session: Conducting a 30-minute online consultation with a client exploring their gender and mental health, finishing with diagnostic confirmation (or otherwise) of gender incongruence. The client will already have seen another professional prior to your assessment, providing a detailed health history. £65/session including write up time.
  • Surgery Referral Letters: Conducting a 1hr online consultation with a client to ensure they are WPATH-ready and compliant for gender-affirming surgery (or otherwise), finishing with a written report to a surgeon. £150/session including write up time.
  • Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC) Part A Reports: Conducting a 1hr online consultation with a client to ensure that they are compliant with UK GRC requirements (or otherwise), finishing with a written report for submission to the GRC panel. £150/session including write up time.

You set your own hours and working calendar as an independent contractor and are responsible for your own tax. This role would suit someone with a vested interest in this field, who wants some additional part-time income while working remotely. It is unlikely to provide a full time income. Occasional evening and weekend availability is helpful.

Equipment & Workspace
A free loan laptop will be provided. You must provide a reliable and consistent internet connection (minimum 35–70 Mbps download and 10–20 Mbps upload). We will test your connection from time to time to ensure it meets these requirements.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Qualified UK HCPC-registered clinical psychologist
  • Demonstrable experience working in field of gender
  • Understanding of UK healthcare regulations and guidelines
  • Located in the UK
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Private and quiet workspace to meet online with clients
  • Good computer skills (managing your calendar, meeting online with client)
  • Professional liability insurance (funding support may be available for the right candidate)

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

  • Lived or personal experience & thus understanding of the health challenges faced by transgender, intersex and non-binary patients in the UK
  • Professional knowledge of transgender healthcare needs
  • Experience working with diverse and marginalised communities
  • Experience in telehealth or online healthcare service

Diversity

We cultivate a culture of inclusion for all team members that respects their individual strengths, views, and experiences. We believe that our differences enable us to be a better team. We actively seek team members from the transgender, intersex and non-binary communities in order to best serve our clients. We encourage those with neurodiversity to also apply.

Pay: Up to £150.00 per hour
