Thornhurst Manor Country Park is seeking an experienced, driven and hands-on General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy and expanding hospitality and events venue.

Thornhurst Manor is a well-established, family-run business offering a restaurant and bar, wedding and event facilities, private functions, conferencing and an 18-hole golf course.

We are looking for a confident and motivated individual who can lead our team, maintain exceptional standards of customer service and take responsibility for the smooth and profitable running of the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to play a key role in the continued growth and development of Thornhurst Manor.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, bar, weddings, functions and wider hospitality facilities.
• Lead, motivate and manage a team across multiple departments, ensuring high standards of performance and professionalism.
• Take responsibility for staffing, rotas, recruitment, training and ongoing team development.
• Maintain excellent customer service standards and ensure guests receive a consistently high-quality experience.
• Oversee weddings, private functions, corporate events and other large-scale bookings, working closely with the events team.
• Monitor financial performance, including revenue, labour costs, stock control and profitability.
• Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve efficiency and develop the business.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, licensing and all relevant legislation.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and effectively.
• Work closely with the business owners to implement improvements, maintain standards and achieve business objectives.
• Take a proactive, hands-on approach, supporting the team during busy service periods and major events.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager or senior hospitality management role.
• A strong background in hospitality, preferably within a busy restaurant, wedding venue, hotel or multi-purpose events business.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• A strong commercial understanding of budgets, staffing costs, stock management and business performance.
• The ability to manage several departments and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience overseeing weddings, functions or large-scale events would be highly advantageous.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintaining operational standards.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays in line with business requirements.

Pay: Up to £45,000.00 per year
