Full job description

LEGAL RECEPTIONIST & ADMINISTRATOR

The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a professional Receptionist and Administrator to join our long-established, highly regarded team at our Bingham office. As the critical first point of contact for clients, visitors, and colleagues, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of our daily operations.

Hours: 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm (with a 30-minute lunch break).

Salary: National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage.

Please note: This is a permanent administrative role. We are looking for a long-term team member who thrives in a dedicated support role; therefore, this position does not provide a pathway to a Training Contract or Paralegal work.

Key Responsibilities

You will ensure our front-of-house runs seamlessly by providing exceptional customer service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greet visitors warmly and handle incoming telephone calls professionally.
  • Accurately record client information and direct enquiries to the appropriate team members.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, book meeting rooms, and keep office supplies stocked.
  • Use our legal case management system for record-keeping and archiving.
  • Maintain a tidy, welcoming, and presentable reception area at all times.

About You

You are a ‘people person’ with a calm, friendly demeanour and a proactive ‘can-do’ attitude. This role keeps you active and engaged, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a steady workflow and interacting with the public.

Ideally, you possess:

  • Local Knowledge: You are based in or very near Bingham, ensuring a reliable, stress-free daily commute.
  • Experience: You have a proven track record in a busy reception, customer service, or hospitality role (legal experience is a plus, but a commitment to excellent service is essential).
  • Skills: You are comfortable using Microsoft Office, pick up new software quickly, and possess the professional polish required to represent a well-respected law firm.

What is On Offer?

  • National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage.
  • An ideal 10 am – 4 pm schedule that offers excellent work-life balance.
  • A supportive, friendly, and collaborative working environment.
  • Being part of a stable, long-established firm.

If you're ready to bring your customer service skills to a firm that values a welcoming front-of-house, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.

Equal Opportunities

We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from suitably qualified individuals regardless of race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, or age.

NOTE TO AGENCIES: We are managing this recruitment internally and do not accept unsolicited enquiries.

Job Type: Full-time

Application question(s):

  • This role is on-site in Bingham (NG13). Could you share your current postcode and let us know how you'll be commuting?
  • This is a permanent, career-focused administrative and front-of-house role. It doesn't lead to a Training Contract or Paralegal work. Please confirm you understand this and share why you're interested in legal administration specifically, rather than a fee-earning or legal practice path.

Experience:

  • Customer service: 3 years (required)

Work Location: In person
