A VACANCY NOW EXISTS FOR A PART-TIME RECEPTIONIST/ADMINISTRATOR. EXPERIENCE DESIRABLE, HOWEVER FULL TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN.

FLEXIBILITY IS ESSENTIAL.

The Wychwood Surgery is a forward thinking and team-oriented Practice looking for a motivated individual with a positive attitude to work in our friendly reception team. Wychwood Surgery is a busy practice of circa 6200 patients and is committed to providing modern care with traditional values.

Medical Receptionists are an integral part of the day to day running of the GP surgery. You will be the first point of contact for patients to assist and direct them to the appropriate service or healthcare professional at the right time. You will be a key member of the team and help by providing general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone Reception is the window to the surgery, therefore, a pleasant, welcoming manner is essential ability to remain calm under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in patient queries: By email, via the telephone and face to face.
  • Process appointment requests for both on the day and future appointments - ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, clinicians and co-workers
  • Computer data entry, checking emails; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures – such as Registrations of new patients
  • Process patients change of address – computer data and medical records
  • Filing/ scanning and retrieving paperwork
  • Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
  • Be prepared to learn how to use the Surgery’s clinical system, EMIS.
  • Work approximately 3 or 4 Saturday mornings per year as part of the Saturday reception rota to book in patients and handle queries.
  • Availability to assist to help cover sick or annual leave is desirable.
  • This list of duties is not exhaustive and may change over time as the role develops. All changes to duties will be with the agreement of the management and the post holder.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent 25 hours per week covering one early 8am opening and one 6.30pm closing per week.
