Are you a passionate Ophthalmic scrub nurse/practitioner looking to work in a supportive, high-performing clinical environment?
At The McIndoe Centre, you’ll join a close-knit, multidisciplinary theatre team, working with modern technology and facilities to deliver outstanding patient care throughout the perioperative journey.

The RoleAs a Ophthalmic scrub nurse/practitioner, you’ll play a vital role across the patient pathway, delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care.
You will:
- Act as a scrub practitioner primarily for all ophthalmic procedures
- Have experience working as a Scrub Nurse within plastic surgery, or a keen interest in developing in this speciality. Full training and support will be provided.
- Prepare operating ophthalmic lists, instruments and consumables in accordance with aseptic standards
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient journeys.
- Contribute to clinical audits, research, and service development initiatives.
- Support safe, efficient theatre operations and optimal use of resources.
- Help create a positive, empathetic environment for patients, colleagues, and visitors
- Work with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities in a modern theatre setting.
- Be part of a team that values collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to research and the ongoing development of clinical pathways
- Gain exposure to a varied caseload, including orthopaedic procedures.
You are a dedicated and motivated practitioner with a genuine passion for delivering excellent patient care.
Essential:
- Registered Nurse (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP Level 3)
- Previous experience in a theatre environment
- Strong ophthalmic theatre experience and fully trained in ophthalmic practice
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based care
Desirable:
- Mentorship or clinical supervision qualification
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Ability to problem solve and contribute to change within a multidisciplinary workforce
- A flexible approach to work
- Understanding of clinical risk and quality issues
Location: The McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (4 days a week 8am to 6pm)
Salary: up to £42,198.00 per annum, depending on experience
