Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated KS2 Maths or English Tutor to join our team on a part-time, remote basis. This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while making a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys. As a tutor, you will provide personalised support to young learners in Key Stage 2 (Ages 6 - 10), helping them develop essential skills in mathematics and/or English. Your enthusiasm, clear communication, and ability to adapt teaching methods will inspire confidence and foster a love of learning in your students.

Duties

  • Deliver engaging and tailored tutoring sessions in Maths or English for KS2 students via online platforms.
  • Assess individual student needs and create customised lesson plans to support their academic growth.
  • Use effective teaching strategies to explain concepts clearly, ensuring students understand and retain key skills.
  • Track student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to students and parents or guardians.
  • Incorporate special education techniques when necessary to support diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that motivates students to participate actively.
  • Communicate regularly with directors on student progress.

Qualifications

  • MUST have proven experience in tutoring or teaching children, preferably within KS2 or similar age groups within a school setting.
  • PGCE desirable but not essential
  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree or studying towards one.
  • Strong knowledge of Maths and English curriculum standards for Key Stage 2.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and empathetically.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
  • Reliable internet connection and proficiency with online teaching tools or platforms.
