Full job description

Hiring for Social Change.

Research Executive, Behavioural Insights, Liverpool City Region / Home Working, £23.4k-£26,500k (dependent on qualifications and experience) + benefits + bonus

We are Hitch, an ambitious integrated behaviour-change marketing agency on a mission to make the world a better place. That’s all the motivation we need to be passionate about the work we do.

As a full service, award-winning marketing agency with a social conscience (proud to be a BCorp too!), you might suspect we work on all sorts of societal, business and brand challenges on a day-to-day basis…You’d be right... In fact, our researchers, planners, creatives, and coders work on projects in many parts of the UK, and new briefs are coming in daily…even international ones. This is one reason we want to add some exciting new talent to our team.

Working at Hitch should mean a safe, stimulating, and fun place to develop your career and create some of your best work…even work you never thought possible. Hey, we’re all ambitious here. Plus, we’re a friendly bunch, and are all ‘for’ each other. So, in those busy ‘help!’ moments, we’ll have your back.

As for fitting in, you’d definitely need to want to make the world a better place! We get excited about that sort of thing. And whilst we want everyone in the team to be themselves and enjoy the adventure, we encourage a culture that reflects the Hitch DNA – that is to: Pioneer; Enable; Relate; Create; Know; and be Socially focussed. You’re bright, so you’ll have a sense of what that already means, but we’ll tell you more when we meet. It’s worth hearing…and experiencing!

So, if you’re intrigued and still reading, here is the ‘current’ opportunity:

We call our research function, Behavioural Insights. This is because we’re seriously into Behaviour-Change and use a wide range of social research methodologies and tools to give us the right insights to define strategy to help our clients maximise their social impact. This could be linked to business strategy, brand development, service or product design, campaign approach, programme design, and evaluating social impact. It’s broad and it’s complicated…but you’ll be the first to say, “it’s fascinating”!

Behavioural Insights is a small and very busy team, which means you’ll be turning your hand to a range of projects and skills on a day-to-day basis. One day you could be in the field delivering in-person or online workshops and writing up the findings, the next conducting a desk review and presenting key insights to a room of stakeholders. Our work also involves data intelligence gathering and analysis, using software tools to measure emotions and manage disinformation. You’ll play a key role in executing a range of methodologies suited to a given project and writing up the findings to a quality standard.

We’re looking for someone with an impressive academic background in psychology or social sciences, coupled with the drive and determination to get the job done. A few years into your career, we’d expect you to be dynamic and able to turn your hand to a range of tasks across qualitative and quantitative disciplines. You’ll know the theory, plus we’d expect you to have quite a few stories to share on how you’ve applied it. You’ll also need to be flexible to work on project tasks in the field, from home and at client offices, in different parts of the country.

Sounding like you? Maybe…? We’re looking for the right someone, now, so please get in touch.

In return, you’ll work alongside an impressive and ambitious team of professionals, on a wide range of social issues projects across the UK, whilst developing your career through our structured Investors In People CPD programme with the Market Research Society, Chartered Institute of Marketing and Institute for Practitioners in Advertising, and our association with the International Social Marketing Association. You’ll have flexible home-working with potential access to offices in the Liverpool city region, a competitive salary with bonus (Hitch is a Real Living Wage Employer), and a range of other benefits.

If you’d like to find out a little more about Hitch go to www.hitchmarketing.co.uk.
