Pay: £14.15 per hour
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Location: In person – Rougham Estate, Bury St Edmunds

About Us

Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Rougham Estate, Roots Café is all about great coffee, delicious homemade food, and genuine hospitality. We’re a friendly, community-focused café where locals and estate visitors alike come to relax and enjoy fresh, seasonal dishes in a stunning countryside setting.

We’re looking for a hands-on Café Supervisor to help lead our small but passionate team — someone who loves working with people, takes pride in great service, and can keep things running smoothly day to day.

The Role

As Café Supervisor, you’ll be the heartbeat of the café — supporting the team, ensuring high standards, and keep service flowing with a smile. Every day is different, from helping on the coffee machine to coordinating the kitchen, greeting customers, and making sure the café looks its best.

You’ll work closely with the Café Manager to:

  • Lead and motivate the café team to deliver excellent service
  • Oversee daily operations, from food prep to customer service
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and cash handling
  • Support with training new staff and building a positive, supportive work culture
  • Step in wherever needed — this is a hands-on role!

About You

We’re looking for someone who’s:

  • Experienced in hospitality or café supervision (barista or kitchen experience a bonus!)
  • A natural leader who enjoys supporting and motivating others
  • Organised and calm under pressure
  • Passionate about great food, coffee, and customer service
  • Reliable, positive, and happy to roll up your sleeves

If you’ve previously worked in cafés, restaurants, farm shops, or similar — and love the buzz of a busy day — you’ll fit right in.
