Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Pot Wash/Kitchen Assistant all-rounder to join our dynamic culinary team Over the christmas period. Must be able to work at a fast pace. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting food preparation and service. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced setting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in restaurant or hotel environments.

Duties

  • Responsible for washing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and assembling ingredients.
  • Support the kitchen team with general cleaning duties to maintain a tidy and safe working environment.
  • Help with organising storage areas and ensuring all supplies are properly stored and labelled.
  • Assist in serving food or beverages when required, providing friendly support to guests or customers.
  • Contribute to maintaining health and safety standards within the kitchen at all times.
  • Support other kitchen duties as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and hospitality operations.
  • Ability to work flexibly across various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
