General Manager – 2Taps Belfast

Salary: £40,000–£45,000 DOE
£10,000+ annual tips based on current tip levels
+ performance bonus
Current overall earning potential: £50,000–£55,000+ before performance bonus
Full-time | Approx. 40 hours per week

2Taps is an independent, family-owned Spanish tapas restaurant in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter.

We’ve been part of Belfast hospitality for over 20 years, and we’re now looking for an experienced and ambitious General Manager to help lead the next chapter of the business.

This is not simply a role for someone to run busy services.

We’re looking for someone who can lead and develop a management team, take real ownership of the operation and help us continue to grow the business commercially.

The role

You’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day running of 2Taps, working closely with our Head Chef and management team.

Key areas will include:

• Leading, coaching and developing the FOH management team
• Setting clear expectations and holding people accountable
• Driving covers, sales and spend per head
• Managing FOH labour and bar margins
• Working closely with the Head Chef to achieve overall labour and commercial targets
• Maintaining consistently high standards across service, cleanliness and presentation
• Creating strong team communication, including briefings and management meetings
• Training and developing the team
• Managing recruitment, performance and day-to-day people issues
• Overseeing bar operations, stock control and supplier relationships
• Identifying opportunities to improve the business and bring more customers through the door
• Building relationships with our regular guests and being a visible presence on the restaurant floor
• Taking ownership of day-to-day operational problems rather than passing them upwards

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a genuine hospitality person.

Someone who is:

• Calm and controlled under pressure
• Warm, confident and naturally good with people
• Commercially aware and comfortable working with numbers
• Organised and proactive
• Direct when needed, but able to coach and develop people
• Comfortable holding managers and team members accountable
• Humble enough to admit when they get something wrong
• Positive, energetic and solutions-focused
• Comfortable making decisions and taking ownership
• Interested in improving how things are done rather than simply maintaining the status quo

You should enjoy being on the restaurant floor, talking to guests and working with your team, while also understanding that great management requires time spent on people, numbers, systems, training and planning.

Previous senior restaurant or hospitality management experience would be highly valuable, but attitude, leadership ability and commercial thinking are equally important to us.

The opportunity

You’ll work directly with the owners but will be trusted to make decisions, solve problems and lead your team.

We’re looking for somebody who could see themselves growing with 2Taps over the longer term. For the right person, there is the potential for the role to develop beyond General Manager as the business evolves.
