Assistant General Manager

The Rose & Crown, Ulverston

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Chattaway Group is proud to be responsible for some of the area’s longest-standing and much-loved hospitality venues, including The Rose & Crown, Farmers Arms Ulverston and Farmers Arms Baycliff.

The Rose & Crown has been part of the Ulverston community for over 40 years, and we’re looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to be part of what comes next.

Working alongside the General Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading the team, looking after our guests and helping the pub continue to deliver the standards we’re proud of.

The role

You’ll help oversee the day-to-day running of the pub, from leading and motivating the team to maintaining standards, supporting service and handling guest feedback.

You’ll be visible on the shop floor, setting the example, building team morale and creating the kind of atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.

We’re looking for someone who gets stuck in, brings energy and fresh ideas, and works closely with the General Manager to drive positive change and move the business forward.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality.
  • A confident, hands-on leader who can motivate and develop a team.
  • A genuine passion for great food, drink and customer service.
  • Someone organised, proactive and comfortable managing the demands of a busy venue.
  • A natural communicator who handles guest feedback professionally and leads by example.
  • Someone who takes pride in their venue, builds morale and brings a positive attitude to work.

A note on working hours

Hospitality means being there when our guests need us, so weekend, bank holiday and Christmas period availability is essential. Christmas Day, however, is yours to enjoy off.
