Overview

Our brand new The Boatman Sports bar and restaurant opens in Mid July and we are looking for the right candidate to lead , alongside the Area General Manager in opening the restaurant, developing and delivering the menus, training and recruiting your own team and then leading the team into the exciting future that this position will reward.

We are seeking an experienced, hard working and dynamic Catering Manager to lead our catering operations with professionalism and passion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, culinary arts, and team management within hospitality or restaurant environments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the delivery of high-quality catering services, ensuring client satisfaction and operational excellence. The Catering Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, coordinating menus, and maintaining food safety standards, all while fostering a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily catering operations, including planning menus and coordinating food production to meet client specifications
  • Supervise and manage catering staff, including chefs, servers, and kitchen assistants, ensuring efficient teamwork and high standards of service
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all food preparation areas
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure timely delivery of catering services
  • Lead food preparation activities, including cooking and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards
  • Monitor service delivery during events to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Train new staff members on food safety procedures, service protocols, and company policies
  • Develop innovative menu ideas that align with current culinary trends and client preferences

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a hospitality or restaurant setting
  • Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated team management capabilities
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple events simultaneously
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
  • Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
  • Experience in food production and service within hotel or catering environments is highly desirable
  • Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members effectively
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Proficiency in managing inventory, budgeting, and resource planning
  • Allergen matrix and HACCP production and management of system
