Job Purpose:

To support the efficient operation of the food production area by preparing and delivering high-quality ingredients and products that meet company specifications, food safety standards, and production schedules. The role is responsible for maintaining exceptional quality, hygiene, and operational standards while supporting staff development, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring a safe, clean, and well-organised working environment. Working collaboratively with the production team, the role contributes to the consistent delivery of premium food products through attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage the day-to-day operation of the production kitchen, ensuring food is prepared efficiently and production schedules are achieved.

· Lead, motivate and support the kitchen team to deliver consistently high-quality food products in line with On a Roll Sandwich Company's specifications and standards.

· Ensure all food products are prepared accurately, consistently and to the required quality standards.

· Maintain strict compliance with food safety legislation, HACCP procedures, allergen controls, hygiene standards and company policies.

· Monitor and maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, housekeeping and organisation throughout the production kitchen.

· Manage stock levels of ingredients and packaging, ensuring availability while minimising waste and supporting effective stock rotation.

· Monitor product quality throughout the production process, addressing any issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.

· Ensure equipment is used safely, maintained appropriately and any faults are reported in a timely manner.

· Communicate effectively with production, management and other departments to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.

· Ensure the production kitchen operates safely and efficiently, maintaining compliance with all health and safety procedures.

· Support the achievement of production targets while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and operational excellence.

Key Tasks:

· Plan, organise and oversee the daily production schedule to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on time.

· Allocate work effectively across the kitchen team to maximise productivity and efficiency.

· Supervise the preparation, assembly and presentation of all food products to ensure they meet company specifications and quality standards.

· Carry out regular quality checks on ingredients, finished products and production processes.

· Ensure all food safety, HACCP, allergen and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.

· Monitor stock levels and place or request orders to ensure sufficient ingredients and packaging materials are available.

· Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, maintained and operated safely, reporting any faults or maintenance requirements promptly.

· Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen by ensuring daily and scheduled cleaning tasks are completed.

· Liaise with Production, Purchasing, Technical and Management teams to ensure smooth communication and operational efficiency.
