Full job description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Head Cook. This role is a full time position and an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a dynamic food service environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in food preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and supporting the overall operation of our kitchen. This position is ideal for someone with a keen interest in cooking and restaurant service, looking to build their career within the hospitality industry & showcase some of their own dishes for our daily specials. We host several events through the month where our special set menus can change to the chefs specials.

Duties:

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients for various dishes.

Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all tasks

Prepare meals according to established recipes and presentation standards

Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces

Help with stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste

Support serving staff during busy periods by delivering prepared dishes promptly and accurately

Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications:

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles is essential; training will be provided for the right candidate

Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices

Experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous

Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure

Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Enthusiastic about change

Flexibility to work shifts as required, including and weekends.
