Job Summary:

As a front-of-house (FOH) Team Member at The Carpenters Arms, you will be the face of our country gastropub, delivering exceptional service and a warm, welcoming experience to our guests. Your role involves taking orders, serving food and drinks, and ensuring the smooth running of the pub’s dining and bar areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring all guests feel welcome and valued.
• Take accurate food and drink orders, offering recommendations where appropriate.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high presentation standards.
• Prepare and serve drinks, including wines, cocktails, and specialty beverages.
• Ensure cleanliness and organisation of tables, bar areas, and service stations.
• Process payments and operate the till accurately.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times.
• Assist with setting up and closing down the restaurant and bar areas.
• Handle customer queries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
• Support in stock rotation, restocking, and maintaining a well-presented bar.
• Be knowledgeable about menu offerings, allergens, and dietary requirements.
• Represent the brand ethos and contribute to a friendly, team-oriented culture.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a similar hospitality or customer-facing role is required.
• A passion for food, drink, and providing top-tier guest experiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive, proactive attitude and strong team player.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene (training will be provided).
