About the Role

McKeever Hotels is developing an exciting new cocktail bar concept in Armagh, and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it from the beginning.

This is an opportunity to join a new team, help shape the guest experience and be part of creating a bar known for warm hospitality, great service and high standards.

We’re looking for people who enjoy working with guests, take pride in providing attentive service and understand that the little things can make a big difference to someone’s experience.

As a Floor Server, you’ll play an important part in creating the atmosphere we want guests to come back for. You’ll look after guests throughout their visit, work closely with the Host and bar team and help make sure service feels warm, relaxed and well organised.

What You’ll be Doing

Working as part of the wider Meridian team, you’ll help deliver friendly, attentive and professional service throughout each shift. You’ll get to know our menu and drinks offering, look after your tables and work closely with colleagues to make sure guests have a consistently great experience.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Welcoming and looking after guests throughout their visit.
  • Taking food and drink orders accurately and confidently.
  • Serving drinks and supporting table service to the required standard.
  • Building knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beers, wines and other menu items.
  • Making recommendations and upselling naturally where it suits the guest.
  • Communicating orders and guest requirements clearly to the bar and kitchen teams.
  • Clearing, cleaning and resetting tables efficiently.
  • Maintaining high presentation and cleanliness standards across the floor.
  • Supporting the Host, bar team and drinks runners during busy periods.
  • Handling guest queries professionally and involving a manager where needed.

This list is not exhaustive and is intended to reflect the main duties and responsibilities of the role. You may be required to undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role and in line with the needs of the business.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, confident with guests and able to keep their standards high when service gets busy. Previous hospitality experience is helpful, but reliability, good communication and a genuine interest in giving guests a great experience matter just as much.

  • Previous hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Friendly, confident and comfortable speaking with guests.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail.
  • Able to work at pace while still giving guests proper attention.
  • Reliable, flexible and willing to support the wider team.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or over due to the sale and service of alcohol as part of the role.

What You’ll Get From Us

Joining McKeever Hotels means becoming part of a family owned hotel group where good people are valued and there are genuine opportunities to learn and progress.

  • Company pension.
  • Employee discounts across McKeever Hotels.
  • Meals while on duty.
  • On-site parking.
  • Perkbox.
  • Employee Assistance and wellbeing support.
  • Training and development from the day you join.
  • Role specific drinks, product and service training.
  • Opportunities to progress within the hotel and across the wider McKeever Hotels group.

Training and Development

You won’t be expected to know every detail of our menu or drinks offering on day one. We’ll provide role-specific training on our menu, drinks knowledge and service standards so you can build your confidence and provide guests with knowledgeable, consistent service.

As your knowledge and experience grow, there may also be opportunities to build additional skills, take on more responsibility and explore other roles within the venue or wider McKeever Hotels group.

A Little About Us

McKeever Hotels is a family owned hotel group. While each of our hotels has its own personality, what matters across all of our hotels is the same. Warm hospitality, good standards and people who genuinely care about the guest experience. We want people to enjoy coming to work, have the opportunity to develop and feel part of the team.
