Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Butchers sandwich shop Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our retail butchery, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and experience in meat preparation, with a keen eye for quality and hygiene. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional environment committed to excellence.

Duties

  • Prepare and fresh and cooked meat and sandwich products in accordance with company standards and customer preferences
  • Assist customers by providing knowledgeable advice on cuts of meat and food options
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop, including sanitising work surfaces and equipment
  • Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of products
  • Restock shelves and display cases with fresh/cooked meat products, ensuring accurate labelling
  • Operate equipment such as slicers, cookers, and scales safely and efficiently
  • Support with general shop duties, including cleaning, stock rotation, and inventory management
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service at all times

Experience

  • Previous experience in food production, culinary roles, is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in meat handling and preparation
  • Experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous
  • Familiarity with food preparation techniques, , will be beneficial
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
