Full job description

The Pier Harwich is proud to be able to offer a new enthusiastic chef the chance to come and work in its thriving kitchen team as a Breakfast Chef

Fixed Term Contract - 4 days a week – Hours will be from 6.30am – 12pm (Includes weekend work)

Pay – Dependent on experience + Tips (Dependant on hours worked – But shared equally)

Key responsibilities in the kitchen:

  • To prepare and cook our exciting English & continental buffet breakfast and have available from 6.30am – 12.00pm
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace as well as follow proper food handling, storage and sanitation practises at all times
  • Knowledge of a variety of ingredients and ability to cook basic breakfast dishes
  • Work as a lone worker, but also to be able to assist the team when needed
  • Receiving and checking off deliveries

Requirements

  • Ideally at least NVQ level 2 in Food production and cooking (But not essential)
  • Experience of cooking breakfast for a number of guests (30 – 50)
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and dish creation
  • Good time and cooking skills ensuring the full breakfast buffet is ready at 7.00am and kept topped up till 11am daily
  • Excellent communication
  • To be enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20.0 per week
