Assistant Restaurant Manager – Richmond Tea Rooms

Step into the enchanting world of Richmond Tearooms, Manchester’s much-loved Alice in Wonderland-themed destination, which has delighted guests for over 15 years.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and commercially aware Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the General Manager in leading the restaurant team, overseeing daily operations and driving the continued success of the business.

With plans to introduce late-night trading and expand our private dining and events offering, this is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, developing a high-performing team and maximising commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full responsibility for all FOH & BOH operations
  • Drive revenue through event programming and extended trading hours
  • Staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Budgeting, cost control, and managing to P&L targets
  • Ensure brand standards and guest experience are consistently exceptional
  • Work closely with the General Manager to implement growth strategies
  • Oversee local marketing and promotional activity

About You

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as AM or in management role in a busy, fast-paced venue
  • Proven success in growing revenue and optimising team performance
  • Commercially astute with a deep understanding of P&L, KPIs, and operational reporting
  • Inspirational team leader with excellent communication skills
  • Passionate about guest experience with a love for unique, theatrical hospitality
  • Highly organised, proactive, and solution-oriented
