Full job description

Napoleons Casino & Restaurant Sheffield is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated full time Commis Chef for our 60-seat restaurant and busy bar food and beverage operation.

Napoleons Casinos & Restaurants are operated by a privately owned UK family business, The A&S Leisure Group, with over 50 years in the leisure and hospitality sector.

We have a commitment to providing first class venues and outstanding customer service for our clientele. Our Group employs over 650 people across 7 leisure & entertainment businesses.

Job Summary

The successful candidate should have good all-round experience of all areas of the kitchen

Have good communication skills and work well within a small enthusiast team and on their own.

Main Duties

· You will be responsible for assisting senior chefs in the preparation and presentation of all dishes in your allocated area

· Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety

· Deal with deliveries and stock rotation

· To liaise closely with all sections of the kitchen and restaurant to ensure efficient service and maintain high levels of communication with colleagues and other staff.

· To ensure that food is prepared and presented to the highest standards as set by the Head Chef for the restaurant and bar.

· Ensure all work areas are kept clean and tidy and are completely cleaned at the end of each shift

Person Specification:

· Have a good working knowledge of kitchen equipment and a complete command of basic culinary basics.

· 1 year’s experience working in a similar type of operation.

· Experience in high volume kitchens working with fresh food and the ability to work well under pressure is preferred, but the role may suit a college leaver with basic industry experience.

· Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.

· Must be willing to work varied shifts and follow instruction.

· Good communication skills are essential.

· NVQ Level 2 or equivalent preferred but not essential.

· Salary starts from £13.00 per hour

· Straight shifts

· 40-hour week – 5 shifts over 7days. Shifts will include evenings and weekends and will involve some late finishes.
