San Giovanni is a family run independent business located in the Midlands, halfway between Birmingham and Leicester and is an idyllic lakeside venue. Our setting is a big draw for our clientele and provides fantastic views. San Giovanni is a well renowned Italian restaurant and bar having been open for 19 years and have recently just won the award of Best Restaurant in our region.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual with at least 3 years experience of working within a professional restaurant setting to join our family.

We are open from midday 7 days a week and being able to work weekends and evenings is essential due to the nature of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide service to the standard of the restaurant
  • Have a detailed understanding of our food and drinks menus
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are handled appropriately
  • Maintain high standards of presentation and cleanliness
  • Upsell menu items to enhance the experience and maximise sales opportunities
  • Efficiently run a section of up to 30 customers
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and food safety standards
  • Handle cash or electronic payments accurately
  • Uphold already set service standards, creating a welcoming environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is necessary
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
  • Good basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately
  • A professional appearance with a positive attitude towards teamwork and customer care
