Full job description

We are seeking a full/part time dedicated Screener to join our team of practices. The Screener will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by conducting diabetic screenings.

The responsibilities of the screener include:

  • explaining the test procedure to the people with diabetes and obtaining consent
  • undertaking visual acuity checks
  • instilling eye drops
  • taking digital images

You will also be responsible for assessing retinal images and identifying the presence and severity of diabetic eye disease (diabetic retinopathy). This is a specialised role, using dedicated software to examine the photographic image in detail. This will require high levels of concentration and review, and extended periods of time using display screen equipment.

Pay: £27,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
