The retail assistant (or sales assistant) ensures a store runs efficiently by assisting customers, processing sales, and maintaining store displays. They act as the face of the brand, performing both customer-facing and behind-the-scenes tasks on a daily basis. [1]Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Welcoming shoppers, answering product-related questions, offering recommendations, and resolving complaints or processing returns.
• Sales and Checkout: Operating cash registers, scanning items, and processing payments or refunds.
• Stock Management: Unloading delivery shipments, pricing items, restocking shelves, and ensuring items are rotated properly.
• Store Maintenance: Tidying up the sales floor, creating attractive displays, and cleaning at the end of shifts.
