Grade Control Geologist
Plymouth, South Devon, UK
Competitive Salary | Permanent Position

About the Role
Tungsten West is seeking a Grade Control Geologist to support the restart of the Hemerdon tungsten-tin mine. You will play a key role in ore control, production support, sampling, geological data collection, and ensuring ore is accurately identified and directed to the processing plant.

** This role requires you to pass a Drug and Alcohol test on day one **

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct blasthole sampling and geological logging
  • Monitor drilling activities and supervise drill rigs
  • Carry out ore spotting and stockpile monitoring
  • Input and manage geological data accurately
  • Support geological mapping and sample management
  • Liaise with Technical Services and Laboratory teams
  • Follow QA/QC procedures and health & safety standards
  • Assist with geological and assay data interpretation

Essential Requirements

  • BSc in Geology or related discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Comfortable with manual handling and physical work
  • UK driving licence (or equivalent)
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Previous mining or operational geology experience
  • Experience with sampling, ore spotting, or production drilling
  • Familiarity with GIS or mining software
  • Knowledge of ore deposit geology
  • Postgraduate qualification
  • Interest in the geology of Southwest England
