Full job description

BioTe Veterinary Laboratories is a veterinary diagnostic laboratory based in Wilton, near Salisbury. We provide a broad range of tests, to equine veterinary practices around the UK.

We are seeking an enthusiastic laboratory assistant to join our friendly team.

The candidate will be responsible for un-packing samples, booking samples onto the lab management system, speaking with practices/vets over the phone, and entering results in the LIM system.

Ideally the candidate will hold some laboratory experience (ideally with a BSc in a relevant field) in order to support the team as a laboratory technician when required, this will include running ELISA tests, faecal worm egg count testing and blood samples. Dependant on the experience and ambition of the candidate the role may be expanded to include helping with the growth and development of the lab and other areas of responsibility including invoicing, stock control and customer care.

This is a full-time temporary position from December 1st 2026 - June 30th 2026. There may be the potential of a permanent position upon completion of this post.

A full UK driving license is essential due to the location of the laboratory.

On-site parking available.

Saturdays and bank holidays on rota are required.
