Full job description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Information Developer -Technical Writer to join our Tech Comms Solutions team. This role supports concurrent releases of complex silicon IP and system-level platforms, enabling engineers and partners to integrate, configure, and deploy SoC solutions. You will be handling high-quality documentation for hardware and low-level software in ground-breaking System-on-Chip (SoC) designs!
Job Overview:
We produce developer-focused documentation for hardware-blocks, RTL interfaces, firmware, build systems, and integration workflows. We work closely with engineering teams to gather technical knowledge and deliver content supporting silicon bring-up, firmware development, and system integration.
Your work will directly contribute to successful tape-outs, validation, and customer enablement!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain documentation for SoC-level hardware and software components, including configuration descriptions, register maps, and build instructions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional SMEs to extract and validate technical information.
- Define, improve, and implement documentation standards, review processes, content structures, terminology, and reuse models for scalable documentation.
- Use structured authoring tools and version control systems to create and maintain modular, source-driven documentation.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 4+ years of experience as a Technical Writer/Information Developer, with demonstrated ability to handle complex documentation across multiple projects and release cycles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specs and design documents.
- Passion for learning about new technologies and standards, and adapting to change.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional engineering environments.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- Experience documenting low-level software and/or hardware in a SoC or semiconductor environment, non-UI software such as firmware, board support packages (BSP), boot flows, and system configuration.
- Understanding of hardware design principles, RTL/IP integration, chip-level validation, bring-up workflows, FPGA prototyping platforms, or embedded software development.
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in a related area. For example: Computer science, Physics, or Maths or English, Linguistics, or Law
In Return:
Work alongside extraordinary colleagues on ground-breaking SoC platforms and integration flows.
Enjoy competitive compensation, flexible working arrangements, and opportunities for career growth in a technically challenging environment.
Please note that no relocation package is available for this role. If skilled worker sponsorship is required, Arm will meet costs associated with sponsorship for the employer only. All fees associated with the individual’s application e.g. visa application fee and Immigration Health Surcharge, will be the responsibility of the successful candidate.
